English Language Challenges

Hi humans, in this last blog session of the semester (and I hope forever!!) I’m going to write about my experience learning English this time at university.

At first it was kind of weird, because I haven’t been on a English class for a long time, so speak and write again was quite difficult at the begining, but luckily my memory wasn’t so bad, so I could remember some things I’ve learned in High School. Now talking about the class it was really cool, although it was late (when everybody were in their home), it was funny because it wasn’t a normal class were you could fell asleep, sometimes I were dying inside but for my class before English.

I think writing in the blogs were sometimes a little boring, but it was necessary to improve our writing skills, our vocabulary, and on the other hand to practise grammar.

I think that one of the aspects I need to improve is the speaking part, It’s really hard for me to speak in public (it was pretty cool just had five classmates), and for this I’m planning to watch more movies without subtitles and try to understand the most part of the movie, also I need to get back to listen music in English, before university I only listened this type of music, and that helped me a lot in High School.

Outside the English class, I’ve been using English for read some books about photography and astronomy (it’s quite difficult, but we can!) and that’s it.

Have I had a good semester?

Hello humans,

In this occasion I will tell you about my first semester (before we were on a strike).
This first part of the year was interesting, I had a new workshop and there I was learning about textile, more specifically about tapestry and I just love it! I learned to knit in a little loom and now I can teach to my mom who also loves all about knitting.

In my workshop (photography) we were doing three different projects, the first is about computing and electrical conections (we had to programme in the computer) The second one is about a personal project for the year (as a thesis, maybe) there I’m doing photos with a dark camera, all the process was really exhausting because I had to design my own camera, I designed four, so I had to cut a looooot of carton. And the last one is a seminary where the teachers gave us a concept and we worked about it.

Another good thing that happened this semester was to had an English class after four years without one. (I’m not trying to be “patera” jajaja), but when I was in high school I really enjoyed my English class (Miss McNaughton <3 ) and I remember it was funny to participate in the Spelling Bee.

Anyway this is not la vie en rose and it was quite difficult too (now is getting much difficult) with all the work and no time to do it! But all can be done with a little patience, I think.

A favourite picture of me

Hello again humans, in this second blog session of the day I’m going to tell you more about the picture you’ll see at the end of the text, it is one of my favourite!

In this picture I’m with my boyfriend and one of his nephew and niece (these little childrens are like my family).
I love this picture because it reminds me a trip we made in 2013 (2 years ago!) in September for the holidays.

We went to Punta de Tralca with my boyfriend’s family, we were about nine persons at the van and two childrens (those who are in the picture) it was like a tetris inside, no one can move!

When we got there we spent all the day at the beach, then when we got hungry ate some food that my boyfriend’s aunt brought, and by the evening all of us walked a lot until we got to the rocks where we are in the picture, the waves crushed behind us, so the photo have to be quickly!

It makes me so joyful see this picture now, it was 2 years ago and nowadays the four of us are so different, especially these two little childrens.. I have known them about 4 years ago, and I feel like they are my blood nephews. They are growing up so fast! I wish they still as childrens forever… Now I sound like a granny.

How green am I?

Hello everyone, on today’s blog session I’m going to write about how green I am.

In my opinion younger people are more conscious about global warming than older people, because in internet is more usual to see videos and documents about how the earth is dying for our fault.

I think about myself as a green person, but at the same time I feel I can do it better.
At home we turn off all the lights if we aren’t using it, we classify our rubbish in plastic, glass and organic stuffs, and we also try for two months to used the organic rubbish as compost, (you need to be constant with these) and we only get a lot of flies.
I don’t have a bike or a car either so my legs are my best friends J

I would like to sign up an eco-organisation, in fact is one of my plans for next year,
maybe in my neighborhood or in the center, I think if you want to help it doesn’t matter where you were doing it.

Besides classify rubbish, I use totebags (bags made of cloths) or paper bags, I used it when I have to carry all my materials or when I have to buy at the supermarket.

In our country is hard to be a “green person” if you don’t have the initiative, because, as sad as it sounds, we can’t follow a simple instruction “Throw rubbish into a rubbish bin”.

THE BEST TECHNOLOGICAL DEVICE IN MY LIFE

Hey humans!

Today I’m going to write about my favourite technological device. Well as you may know I’m studying photography so you can imagine what is my favourite tech device.. Yes! You answer right, it’s the photographic camera, but not a digital one, it’s the analog camera.

I got my first analog camera about 5 years ago, (but in my childhood I always played with my mom’s camera), and I just fall in love with it, of course my first photos with it were horrible, I didn’t understand anything about it because you had to knew about exposure, sensitivity of the film,  and other technical stuffs (my camera tooks photos only in manual exposure mode).

I use this tech device for my work as a “photographer” (I don’t like pretty much this word) but make analog photography it’s too expensive for doing it all the time. You need to buy the film, then yo have to develop the negatives and there you have two options; make your own darkroom or go to a laboratory (you need money for both)

If I have to choose between a digital camera and an analog one I’ll choose the last one without regrets, because it makes you think more about the image you will take, you only have 36 exposures! You need to use the film wisely.

That's all folks! :)
